I often speak of using a food processor to make food for my
flock. Robin P does this as well and maybe some others
    that I'm not familiar.
It's a real time saver and the "texture," when finished, is
appealing to both small and larger birds. Often times, the
smaller birds will avoid foods that are too big in size for
them to manage, so this gives them the opportunity to
sample more than they might. This is also a way to work in
some foods that they normally might turn their beaks up at.
You can use just about anything you would like to do this.
This particular photo mix contains about 7 different beans,
turnip and mustard greens, broccoli, carrots, parsley,
walnuts, flax seed, quinoia and apple.
Simply put the ingredients into the processor and pulse the
steel blade until you achieve the texture you want.
One thing I will mention is the use of cooked beans. They
must be chilled thoroughly before they can be used in this
manner. Hot or freshly cooked beans will turn to mush if
you try to use them. Cold works best.
The benefits of a processor are many. It allows me to feed
a vairety of foods and prepare them in record breaking time.
You're more apt to serve fresh if the preparation is less
labor intensive than chopping by hand.

Thought I'd mention this...if you don't care to spend the
time cooking bean mix there is a great way around it.
I put my dried beans into a crock pot and cook on low heat
over night. I use 1/3 beans and 2/3 water. You wake up to
cooked bean mix without work or effort.
