Lyn,

I'm sorry to jump in on this, but do you think maybe one of the birds
could have been carrying the bacteria, and possbily defacated in the
food or just in the bottom of the cage? Water is not the only source,
just the most probable. But if other birds (or animals) are nearby,
they should also be tested as carriers.
