Post: Plucking Feathers

Posted by Sue on 2/04/06

    Hi,
    I have a 5-year-old female Timneh. She's a petite, really
nice bird, but only says a few words. In the past month,
she's starting picking her feathers, little by little. I
always heard people talk, but she never, never did
anything like that before. I actually never saw her shed
a lot in all the years I've had her. Nothing has changed
in our house. She loves my son, but he has always not
payed much attention, so I don't think that's it. Does
she need another bird companion? Is there anything I can
do to stop her from picking her feathers?

    Thanks, Susan
