Take one of the small cages for parakeets, the ones I use as
hospital cages etc. bc they are too small for a real
cage.... but inside of it those sticky tapes. The flies can
get in and get stuck, your birds can't! If you have
wondering birds that will open doors use quick links to
secure openings.

Fruit flies can be killed this way or by using a soda bottle
filled with some water and part juice. The will
drown....that and sticky glue tapes in a cage if needed to
protect your flock.
