Hi Brad, I am currently a forum member of mytoos.com and I would
like to say that visiting mytoos was the best thing I had ever done
before venturing into rescuing my M2. There you find a wealth of
information and facts you need to know about raising (not breeding)
these wonderful creatures. Yes, they can be a problem bird as they
are very needy and emotionally attached to your side. The reason
mytoos.com is so dead set against breeders is because of the abuse
these birds have endured over the past 30-40 years. Breeders of
course will not tell you this.
Mytoos.com invites all those wishing to educate themselves with this
magnificient creature. Is true they do not like breeders due to the
fact that many breeders do not educate there prospective buyers of
what they are getting themselves in for. This is a lifelong
adventure. If you were to do your research regarding Cockatoos and
the rescues, you will find that Cockatoos are the number 1 bird with
the highest number of abandonment by their owners due to lack of
cockatoo education. Mytoos.com is a good site, I recommend you check
it out. Please don't think of this as any one setting you up, think
of it as educating yourself and gaining wisdom before you make any
ventures with the Cockatoos.
Check out Petfinders.com, there you can validate what I have told
you about the mass quantity of Cockatoos in the rescues.
And also I invite you to join the mytoos.com forums. You would be
much welcomed.
