    Not really the answer you're looking for, but we have two
    females and had no way of knowing their sex until we had
    their blood tested. If you've not purchased your bird(s) yet
    keep in mind they can live for 30 years.

    They're wonderful little birds and really quiet! They both
    sing when they hear water running. At night, simply grab a
    dark towel and place it at the bottom of the cage -- your
    bird will sleep in there the entire night (sort of like
    a "bird burrito").
