Post: Wild Finches

i have a nest on my front porch with 3 eggs that just
hatched. i really think it is a finch nest. there were 4
eggs but as i said only 3 hatched. i rarely see the mother
and they seem to be hungry all the time. i am very
concerned. i do not want them to die. how long should i
give it before i try to help. how in the world do you feed
a baby finch if that is what it really is. before the eggs
hatched i would see the momma bird nesting on and off and i
checked the calendar from the time that she laid the last
egg it has only been about 2 weeks. we have not touched
the birds, the nest nor did we touch the eggs. as i said
it is on my foront porch in a plant pot hanging from a
hook. any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
