    It really sounds like the female was egg bound. I am trully
    sorry this happened. Wait a week or so, so the male can grieve
    before getting him a new mate if you were planning on it because
    he will feel upset and well may attack the next bird since he
    may think his mate is still around. Sorry about the birdie :(
