Post: safe pest control

i've lately had a fly problem in my apartment, we are
located above a open dumpster. i have a pair of cordon
blues and a handicapped society finch. i would like to
know if anyone knows what fly control agents are really
safe and non toxic around birds.

i'm looking at a product called Cento Luralite Ultraviolet
Fly Trap. it says it uses no chemicals and is safe around
food and animals but it does use a pheromone impregnated
glue trap. and i'm paranoid. has anyone used any thing
like this around there birds? are zappers that don't have
glue strips a better idea?
