Post: New white society finch...Posted by Kitty.J on 6/01/06
I just bought a white society finch that I believe it to
be a female from petco. I know birds take time to adjust
(and I haven't bouten a bird since I bought my java pair
last september) and I put the white society finch in my
smallest bird cage (that I use for weaning baby chicks)
and she doesnt seem to be interactive at all... She is on
a table 3 feet away from my male white society finch and
he sings and chirps to her, but she just sits in her own
cage, quiet. When i bought birds before they'd be chirpen
and going crazy. Like recently I just bought a male zebra
finch for one of my females whose mate escaped as I was
remodeling my room. And he was interactive right from the
start, and well... this female is not. I've gotten
societies before... but she is just not active. I am
worrying because I have been around birds since I was
little and know about health, ect., ect. But what do you
all suppose I should do. I bought her today and I will
wait to see if i should do anything about her. btw She is
very skinny, makes me even more mad abouthow petco's
animals are being treated... Thanks!
