Post: Canary leg issues

Posted by shawna on 9/28/06

I have a male canary, was singing beatifully. I found him
hanging upside down in his cage, quickly righted him, but
he has been grounded ever since. He eats well. Vet says
no broken bones. He prefers to stay low. His legs and
feet seem irritated, but a person familiar with birds said
it wasnt mites. Is there some kind of ointment I can
apply, or does this mean he may have a deficiency of some
sort? He eats fruits, veggies, egg and whole wheat bread
along wihg his canary mix. He does not sing anymore, even
with the canary cd prompting him. Any ideas?
