I agree. No matter what, it sounds like he will be in a much
better situation with you than maybe anywhere else. So long as
you are willing to work with him at his speed. Building trust
with him is the most important thing and it sounds like you
know how, and are willing to that with all the patience it may
require. Always remember the extreme intelligence you were
working with and remember that he is smart enough to, at some
point, figure out you are not the enemy and will understand
things are much better for him. Best of luck and let us know
if we can do anything else for you and him.
