Re: preserving macaw feathers

    As for timing, my Macaw seems to just drop some here and
    there, both body feathers and the tail and flights, a few at
    a time but there has never been what I could really call a
    huge, major molt. As for keeping them, I also keep all of
    the dropped tail and flight feathers and I just stand them in
    vases as if they were flowers. I've never had any thing
    bother them. I'm not sure feathers are something a moth
    would be interested in. I thought they only go after wool but
    I could be wrong about that. In any case, I've not had any
    damage to any of my feathers, no matter how long I've had
    them.
