I am a proud owner of a Greenwing Macaw who has been part of my family for 15+ years. My significant other has recently moved in with me and has had some difficulties with establishing a good relation with my Macaw. (She gets a good nip from my Macaw on occasion and is starting to become a little reluctant in handling him). To me handling my Macaw is all second nature since he has been with me so long and has bonded with me. I have suggested that she read a good book on Macaw behaviors to help her better understand his behavior, how to handle him, and disciplinary measures to correct biting. Any suggestions on a good book? Right now it is not a serious problem but want to correct it before it becomes one.
