The results of the 20% Listerine Solution application were
positive. On Wednesday 3/21, I gave my three CAG`s and my B+G
Macaw a soaking shower with plain water and then sprayed each
with plenty of the solution. Today, Saturday 3/24, I gave them
all the sniff test and they still smelled better than before
the solution. I give them all a soaking shower every Wed +
Sat, thus the results on Satarday. I do not think that Lunch
Lady meant to spray them after every shower; but rather `as
needed`? It works, and I would not be afraid to use it `as
needed`.
I looked up Clostridium and will ask the Avian Vet about
it. I guess I assumed that the Poop smelled too, but I gave
the discarded paper from each sleep cage a 'sniff' test and
none of the paper had an odor. I use a Winix Air Cleaner to
process the air in their room and figure I had better wash the
charcoal filter part more often. THANKS for the help. Pete
