I think the ads you are talking about are the scam ads that look too good to be true. I have friends that live close by that have breeder birds that destroy thir eggs and they bring me eggs to put under one of my pair that are sitting. We have been successful about 75% of the time. There are too many risks with transporting the eggs and getting another pair to sit, hatch, and feed. I guess if you were awesome at day 1 feeding and the eggs were close you could get them and put them in an incubator...but I doubt the success rate would be very high.
