Post: feather picking

Posted by eak on 9/18/08

Hello I have a 6 year old white capped pionus named
Snowcap. Within the past year my work schedule has kept me
home less. I have noticed she's begun to pick her chest
feathers. Nothing I do seems to keep her distracted during
the day, and she is completely disinterested in everything
I try (fresh fruit, chewable wood, shredable paper). She
has never been interested in toys. In fact, all that seems
to make her happy is being with me. I have always left her
cage door open during the day (she's in a secure room)
thinking it may keep her occupied, but she's still picking.
Is there anything I can do?
