Actually, that is not my experience. I know that it is true in theory,
but this Red Belly and 1 Parrotlet are the only 2 of all I have owned
that did this, and I have had Cockatoos, Pionus, (Pionus, due to lack
of training, was a shoulder bird, but would never try to go to my
head), Grey Cheeks, many smaller birds, etc.
While caged, yes, usually, although this Red belly doesn't make a habit
of that either, unless she is ready to go "night night", at which point
she'll go to roost on the highest perch.
I guess she just doesn't feel the need to be "the top bird." Who
knows?
