My female Quaker, Dakota, is about 9 months old. She's
started making strange breathing sounds when she's paid
attention to. She'll inhale through her beak at times,
but not all the time. She's been to the avian vet three
times, and will never do it in front of them. Her energy,
diet, and mood have not changed. Her cage is always
clean. Any idea what she could be doing? She has also
started trying to go underneath the hand towel that I lay
across the back portion of the top of her cage...why?
Could this be a nesting instict..? isn't she too young?
