My husband and i recently bought a Honeywell quartz heater.
Hy husband wanted to run the heater immediately, but my
instincts told me to call the manufacturer and ask if it
contained Teflon or other nonstick coatings. I was told
that it did contain Teflon. I returned it and got a
Westinghouse ceramic heater; it seems that ceramic heat is
safe. I also found out that my hair dryer might contain
Teflon! I wanted to share my experience with the heater in
case anyone is thinking about getting one...i know you want
to keep your birds safe! My conures are safe and warm and i
can rest easier knowing that the heater is not poisoning
    them!
