Post: For Harriet

Posted by GreyLady on 10/09/10

Apparently no one is overseeing this board now. I can't
remember the last time I could actually reply to a
message. It seems starting a new post is the only way.
Anyhow, I expect your Macaw is fully feathered by now, or
very close. You can start misting them once they are fully
feathered. Just be careful that you do it early in the day
so he never goes to bed damp. Don't let him be in any
draft and don't let him get chilled. Do it early and let
him dry naturally, not with a blow dryer or anything like
that. Using artifical drying only negates the good of the
bath by drying their skin and feathers too much.
