just to let you know i take very good care of my birds and i
have gotton a FREE bird already he is a orange wing amazon and
no one has held min in 5 years...guess what!!! i did i have
only had him 2 days and already he is talking to me and letting
me hold him...i also have a S.I Eclectus female and she is very
well off i turned her around in just 2 weeks and she was a real
mean biter. and just to let you know the savings we spent was
only to go pick up free birds..and i have a great avian vet
right in watertown ny on rt 3 toward sackets harbor ny... and
yes birds are very exspensive to take care of but the food is
affordable!!! the price of the birds well that is just
outragious.... esp.. when birds need lots of attention and love
and that means a lot of your time...something people don't
think about when getting a bird...they just put them in a room
in a cage and feed them...wronge birds need more than
that...some birds have the intelect of a 5 yr old child...they
only get mean when not taken care of correctly...and buy the
way i trim the beaks on my own and cut there nails and wings if
needed all on my own as well...my vet has been very good to
me...also my best friends husband is a vet teck and is near
by....so yes things can be free and yes you can take care of
animals without having a lot of money...to buy them...thanks
    for the post...
