(WJBK) Police continue to search for a gunman who robbed and murdered the popular owner of Tom Party Store on Inkster Road near Eight Mile Road in Farmington Hills. Monday at Southfield Funeral Home. Tuesday at Mother of God Chaldean Catholic Church in Southfield.Police say Lossia was dead at the scene. The cash register was open when he was found. A short time earlier, a possible suspect was seen leaving the store. He described as a black man in his teens or early 20s, about six feet tall with a thin build.Regular customers tell Fox 2 the victim, who they knew as "Dave," would go out of his way to help anyone, even giving customers store credit or letting them go without paying if they were short on cash. They say he also gave homeless people odd jobs and paid them for their work."He was a good man, a family man," said Brandon Stewart. "He worked hard; he wanted his son and daughter to go to college and to get through life. He an outgoing guy."Grieving family members gathered on the street trying to console one another. A woman believed to be the store owner wife was so grief stricken, she was carried away on a stretcher. Police say Dave owned the store for about 23 years. He was so well loved, customers tell Fox 2 they don believe anyone who knew him could rob him or kill him."He known around this neighborhood, he like family to everyone," said Debra Jennings. "Didn matter what color you [were], what race you were. He was just a very sweet man and I sure hope they catch whoever [did] that to him, I really do, because he didn deserve that at all."UPDATE 12/30: One person has been arrested in connection with the murder of Lossia.
