Part of owning a parrot is routine grooming. Unlike dogs and cats, grooming for parrots does not involve a shampoo and blowdry, but instead it means keeping the wings clipped, nails trimmed, and making sure the beak is in good shape.
Birdmart recommends strongly that you take a lesson from a professional before attempting to groom your bird. Most avian vets will be happy to show you what is involved. If you have been shown and you want a refresher course, or you are just curious about what your groomer does with your bird during the appointment, we have provided the following information. Again, please do not attempt this if you have never been shown how to groom! Serious injury to your bird could be the result!
