After consultation with Penn. Vet Hosp, I was advised to use
Collasate (a surgical dressing) which seals the area. Also
I devised a vest out of lamb skin (you can also use leather
but then you have to deal with gluing velcro on it to fasten.
The lamb skin vest can be pinned or have velcro sewn on it.
She gets a shower daily and grooming time out of the vest
